Woodland Cemetery - Polk County - Des Moines - 41.590116 by -93.645283

This 4.5-inch siege rifle, M1861, was made at the Fort Pitt Foundry in 1865. It is located in the GAR section on the east side of the cemetery. Two 8-inch siege mortars, M1861, cast at Cyrus Alger & Co., are located in the south GAR section of the cemetery. The entrance is at the corner of Woodland and MLK Jr. Parkway. Photos taken 9/21/07.
