Fredericksburg - Civil War Plaque - GPS Coordinates: 42.965300 by -92.195150
This plaque is on a large boulder in a nice location near other Veterans memorials in Fredericksburg. It is on East Main Street or Highway 18 just east of the business district in front of the Sumner-Fredericksburg Middle School. Photos taken 7/4/08 and 6/2/21.
Nashua - Civil War Plaque and Cannon - GPS Coordinates: 42.954516 by -92.538333
This boulder and plaque are in Cannon Park. It was dedicated by the WRC in 1929. The cannon is a 75mm Japanese Type 41 - thanks to Tom Batha for help in identification of this cannon. The nice little park is is along the river and just west of the business district on the north side of Highway 346. The first and third photos were taken 7/4/08 - the plaque close-up photo was taken 6/2/21.
Nashua - Civil War Soldier - GPS Coordinates: 42.941083 by -92.535750
This monument is in Oak Hill Cemetery on the south side of town. The height is about 15 feet. The only inscription is "In Memory of our Deceased Soldiers." Follow Main Street to the cemetery. The monument is close to the entrance. Photo taken 7/4/08. Also shown is an old photo at the monument from Decoration Day 1907.
